Cacao Walnut Smoothie

The perfect smoothie for those days when there are just too many hours between lunch and dinner

Whats good about it: the cacao in this smoothie will give you an afternoon boost, the banana provides a source of energy to get you through the day and walnuts are a great source of protein and monounsaturated fats to keep you full. Walnuts also have the added benefit of containing Omega 3 fatty acids, a type of fat which has been shown to reduce inflammation in the body and improve heart and brain health.

Serves: 1
  • 1 handful fresh walnuts
  • 1 small banana
  • 200ml -250ml unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp ground flax, chia seed or natural buzz superfood mix
  • a few ice cubes
  • Optional: top with cacao nibs/chopped walnuts
  1. Blend it all up until smooth and creamy. Add toppings if desired, serve
